OCP (birth control pills)

Oral contractive pills prevents pregnancy because it contains estrogen and progestin. When taking it daily, it prevents the ovaries from releasing an egg. OCP also induce the change of the lining in the uterus and cervical mucus to keep the sperms from reaching the egg.

There are many different types of OCP, one of them is “extended cycle” pills. These pills are stronger than others, using these pills, women only have their period 3-4 times a year. Still, to find a pill that works for you, speak to a doctor to see which is best for you.
